Derwent London and Davis Langdon, an AECOM company, announce today that Richard Baldwin, a Director of Davis Langdon, will be joining Derwent London, a Davis Langdon client, as its Head of Development in early January 2011. Richard will report to group main board directors Simon Silver and Paul Williams and will coordinate the execution and delivery of Derwent London projects. Simon Silver, Head of Strategic Regeneration, retains overall responsibility for origination and architectural design of the group’s projects.
Simon Silver said: “Derwent London has worked with Davis Langdon and Richard for many years. Richard has been involved in many of Derwent London’s projects and shares our commitment and enthusiasm to regeneration. He will make a valuable member of the team as the group progresses a number of significant development schemes over the next few years from a substantial central London pipeline in excess of two million square feet. We very much look forward to Richard’s arrival and to continuing our strong relationship with Davis Langdon.”
Jeremy Horner, Global Chief Executive of Davis Langdon, said: “Richard has expressed an ambition to work on the client side at some stage in his career. This opportunity has arisen at an interesting time in the London development market and Richard has thought long and hard about the direction he should take. Whilst we will miss Richard, we are pleased that he will be joining an important client with whom we have enjoyed an excellent relationship for many years. This high profile appointment reflects the esteem in which our senior people are held in the market.
We support Richard in this move and look forward to working with him in his new role.”
John Hicks, former Head of Public Sector at Davis Langdon, has been appointed new Managing Director to take over Richard’s responsibilities for the European business.
