Derwent London plc is delighted to announce that it helped raise circa £195,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust at its fundraising luncheon at The Dorchester on 21 November 2012.

The occasion marked the 10th anniversary of the collaboration between Derwent London and Teenage Cancer Trust which is Britain’s only charity dedicated to supporting young cancer patients between the ages of 13 and 24.

400 guests from the property industry attended the luncheon at which a newly-commissioned short film was shown describing the experiences of young cancer patients.

In addition to regular fundraising, Derwent London has helped Teenage Cancer Trust develop a best practice guideline document which is used when setting up a new ward. The Group also introduced key architects and other design team members to the charity. In 2010 The Birmingham Children's Hospital unit, designed by Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, won the BBH Award for Best Interior Design. Teenage Cancer Trust's vision is to build units in all of Britain's major hospitals.

Paul Williams, Director of Derwent London, said:
“We are delighted to have raised this significant sum to help support this excellent charity. We are grateful to our guests and participants over the years who have assisted in this cause.”

Simon Davies, Chief Executive of Teenage Cancer Trust said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Derwent London and its guests who have given so generously. The Derwent London team have provided incredible professional guidance, support and contacts for us over the years. In addition they have raised an incredible amount of money with this £200,000 bringing their total to over £1.2 million. Their contribution to young people with cancer throughout the UK has been immense."
